Filter-How it works

With filters you start from the data/information that you have on your customers and members. It is usually customer data and information about your customers such as name, zip code, address, city, customer type, interest, etc.m. custom field .

Based on your custom field you can filter your audience based on these values saved for each recipient. In this way you become more relevant and efficient in your communication and you can also control mailings according to the desired data.

Below is a basic example of how to easily build a filter based on your customer data in Rule. You can then apply the procedure directly to your own business and of course create other filters from the outside of your member data.

To create a filter, do the following:

  • Then enter the tag/tags on which the filter should be based, such as the "Newsletter" tag as in the example here, and click Save filter to proceed.

Basing the filter on a tag means specifying which part of your target group you want to base the selection on. (As a premium, you can also create Grouped filters as an option. This means merging two or more previously created filters to combine more parameters. Search through the question mark in the lower right corner to learn more about GroupedFilter.)

The step above is the same for all filters that you choose to create. Subsequent steps shift slightly when you choose the type of data you want to start from and then you set the filter rules based on need, i.e. depending on whether it is the date, brand or other parameters that you want to filter by. Soon you will soon have made your first filter.

Rule's in filters

In the next step, select which custom field on which to base the filter. In this example, the group " Interests" and the member field "Active". Other common groupings to create filters from include: Order that contains information such as product type, date of order, etc.m.

2) Setting the filter rule and finally

3) The actual member information desired to filter.

Use more rules

As a premium if you have more rules in your filter, you can choose between "Match something" or "Match all" rules.

4) Click the Save Rules button to start building the filter.
